This part of my story begins in 2000, when I co-wrote a book called Scannan with my dear friend Ian Reynolds, a paranormal psychological thriller. The book tells the story of a man who descends into madness after his business partner takes his own life.

It’s centred amongst the cluster of marketing companies based around Manchester. The idea for it came to me in a series of dreams. Since its publication, however, I’ve had the feeling that a large part of the story was missing.
